A white rose was one of the symbols associated with the Stuart kings of Britain. In the summer of 1746 the Young Pretender to the British throne, Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) fled to Skye from the Outer Isles after the defeat of the Jacobite army at Culloden. This most thrilling of escape stories became the stuff of legend. The first piece of jewellery we ever made - away back in 1974 - was a silver rose in memory of the Prince and his flight to Skye.
Our Skye Rose range has been in constant production for over 50 years and you will see examples throughout our website as pendants and earrings.
15mm (5/8") diameter. All sterling silver.
