One of the joys of autumn and winter on Skye is the appearance of the Northern Lights. Fleeting and irregular, they fill the northern sky with shimmering bands of light and colour. Seen against the dark sea and the distant hills, they are an unforgettable sight.
The old people called them "Na fir chlis" - often (loosely) translated into English as "the merry dancers".
Our new pendant attempts to capture the colour and movement of the lights using kiln-fired enamels on silver. (If you haven't seen our enamelling video. you can check it out now on the information page.)
