Tree of Life dangle earrings - 188ED
The Celtic Tree of Life - the name was given to the design by George Bain, one of the greatest popularisers of Celtic art and one to whom every designer of my generation owes so much - consists of a series of foliate elements emerging in profusion from linked cornucopiae and the design is widely used in the great Celtic manuscripts, such as the Book of Kells. Bain's "Celtic Art - the Methods of Construction" - is still the most inspirational and informative text for those interested in this art form. Modern versions of the "Celtic Tree of Life" do, of course, exist but they all tend to look like - well - trees with tangled branches and are not related to this design.
The Celtic Tree of Life design appears in several of our pendant and earring pieces throughout the site.
